TurN little moments into artWork that lasts a lifetime

maternity, Newborn, family, & Senior photography

Why hire a photographer?

Everyone has cameras. Chances are you’re looking at this on your phone and all you need to do is change apps to access one. But how often do you actually look at those photos? Are they sitting on an app filled with 3,000 other pictures? Definitely guilty of this myself. Hiring a photographer helps you capture whatever stage you’re at in life and helps put those memories on display where you can fondly see them for years to come.

I’ll be honest…. I do things a little bit different than your average photographer.

Chances are if you’ve had photos done before, it’s been all about the digital files. You get a gallery link, download the pictures, post a few on social media, and they eventually end up adding to the 3,000 plus pictures hiding in an app on your phone. For some people, that system works great. I prefer something different. Call me old fashioned. I grew up with my grandpa doing slide shows and my mom putting prints up all over our house and into albums. The way I see it is you spend the money, put effort into picking out the perfect outfit, get your hair and makeup done, and take the time to get your picture taken at your session… why wouldn’t you want the final product displayed? I believe in creating custom pieces of art that you can proudly display in your home and even pass down someday. I’m invested into making your whole experience and the final outcome worth all your effort.

What I Do

Maternity, Newborn, & Baby

Beginning your journey as a parent can be an exciting. I offer packages to document every step of the way. My bundle packages include maternity, newborn, six month, and one year sessions to create one of a kind artwork to capture your growing family.

Families come in all shapes and sizes. Maybe you and your spouse have a mini van packed with kids. Maybe you’re like me doing the whole single parent thing. Maybe you’re just enjoying life with just the two of you, a couple of dogs, cats, and/or pet rocks (I don’t judge). No matter where you’re at on your journey, I can help you capture the beauty of this stage to preserve for a lifetime.

Whether you’re a senior getting ready to face the world or you’re their parent getting ready to be an empty-nester, this is a very special time in your journey. The future may be full of important life changing choices, but having something to remember these days is so important. I can help you create something that captures who you are today because next thing you know you’ll be getting invitations to your ten year reunion and wondering where the time went.

What is included in my session fee?

The session fee covers our initial phone call, an inspiration and planning meeting, access to my guides to prepare for your session, your session, editing of your photos, and an in person consultation for picking your artwork.
If you are doing a maternity or newborn session, the fee also includes access to my client closet.

How should we dress for our session?

My short answer is however you feel most comfortable. I’ll send you a style guide that’ll walk you through the process of picking the perfect outfit. But I will say that if you’re the type of person who never wears high heels, don’t feel the need to learn to master them now. Your pictures turn out best when you are comfortable and being yourself.

Our senior is involved in multiple sports and activities, are we limited on outfit changes?

NO! I want you to have these memories for a lifetime. So no need to pick between your volleyball and soccer uniforms to meet a maximum number of outfits. As long as the outfit changes are discussed during our inspiration and planning meeting, you can have as many as you need.

When is the best time to take maternity pictures?

Around 32-34 weeks. They can obviously be done a little earlier depending on how much you’re showing. As a mom of three kids, I know the timing can vary with each pregnancy.

How many digital pictures will we receive?

In short, as many as you pick. I don’t do digital only packages. I want to create artwork you love and want to display. So when we sit down for to order prints, wall art, and albums, whatever pictures you select will also be uploaded in social media resolution into an online gallery and phone app for you.

We don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

That is okay! I’ll let you in on a little secret, I don’t like being in front of the camera all that much either. But my goal is to have you having so much fun that you forget the camera is there.

What happens if our kid doesn’t want to sit still for pictures?

I like capturing kids being themselves. Sometimes they just don’t want to hold still and smile (and forcing them will cause a temper tantrum). That’s okay. We try our best but sometimes just letting them take a break to explore and play can lead to the best candid pictures.

What’s the best time to have a session with a newborn?

Within the first three weeks of being born. That is when babies are still the sleepiest (even if they don’t sleep for super long stretches of time) which makes it easiest to get those adorable poses with them.
